  2. 2. What are QR Codes? • QR (QR being short for Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that when scanned with a QR Code reader allow people to connect to video, audio, pictures, web sites and more by linking the individual to content on any supported mobile device or with a desktop reader.
  3. 3. Are Educators Using QR Codes? • With the increasing use of mobile technology, QR codes are becoming more common in business and educational settings. The possibilities for their use are endless, and many translate into the classroom, offering a fun and exciting way for students to use technology for learning.
  4. 4. How Can I Get a QR Code Reader? • To use QR codes conveniently you need a mobile device equipped with a camera and a QR code reader/scanner app. Newer mobile devices often have a QR Code Reader app pre- installed on them. If your device does not have a QR Code Reader, all you have to do is visit your app store and download a QR Code reader/scanner app.
  5. 5. How Do You Scan a QR Code? • Open the QR Reader app, point the camera at the QR Code, do your best to steady your hand while the QR code is centered on the screen. Voila, as soon as it is done scanning, whatever information, videos, webpage URL’s, text, etc. were stored in the QR code should present itself for your viewing pleasure.
  6. 6. Are you ready to try it? • Scan this QR Code to view QR Codes in Plain English video
  7. 7. How Can I Create QR Codes? • Users can generate and print their own QR codes for others to scan and use via downloadable or online applications. Do a Google search for “QR code generator”.
