Engage policy makers to influence public policies that benefit millions of poor. Mobilize the community and train Civil Society NGO’s at the grassroots level. Create POSITIVE MODELS of Sustainable Development that transform lives. Objectives: Who Are We? USIPI is the only community supported non-profit policy think tank focused on the Development of poor and vulnerable communities, including Muslims in India. USIPI evidence based development research, produces policy options, engages policy makers, builds network of NGO's at the district level and creates development models that are easy to replicate. Document and provide policy advice for the development of backward districts and poor communities. Policy Outreach Vice President; Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Chhattisgarh and the Telangana Committee for Muslims. Continue to push for expansion of development programs and greater reach to help vulnerable groups. Equal Opportunity Commission Karnataka state accepts recommendation; USIPI submitted a draft law, the first one in India. Outreach to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal states to establish Equal Opp. Commissions. District Development Held Focus groups discussions in Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam, Telangana and Karnataka. Implement District Development Program by working with NGO’s and hiring District Development Fellows . Skills Development Established our first Skills Development Center for job- oriented training in Rampur, UP. Establish two more skills centers in Murshidabad, West Bengal and Parbhani, Maharashtra.
