  8. 8. 2021-06: 100.000+ of 102.000+ Archaeology datasets are already set to a formal Open Access licence. This amounts to 98%, as opposed to 75% two years ago! Use of formal Open Access licences

Pros • Positioning as the national archaeological data repository • Domain specific repository: dedicated to its audience • Usage of existing Harvard University’s open source Dataverse technology as opposed to developing everything out of the box • Dataverse software: among other advantages, excellent for versioning and for facilitating a smoother workflow • Large scale formalized usage of Open licences Cons • Migrations to a new technology always comes with hurdles. We need to ensure that every little thing which already worked remains Pros and cons
