Unfortunately , the monastics had to leave Prudnik as a result of conflict with diocese. The monastery had been empty for ten years. In 1863 a few Franciscans moved to Prudnik. They began extending the monastery. Unluckily, they couldn’t live here for a long time. Prussian authorities banished all the monastics abroad. However, they managed to come back after two years. People asked Franciscans to stay in Prudnik forever, but they weren’t able to come up to their expectations. In October 1954 communists ordered them to leave the monastery. They were rehoused to Borki Wielkie. The monastery in Prudnik became a prison for Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński.
