SKILLS 2 Soft skills to improve Based on the reading on the 55 soft skills, I would like to
improve the following or develop the following skills to become a better leader. I would like
to the ability to mentor and inspire my colleagues and other people around me to do better
and reach their potential. From the reading, I have realized it is very important to motivate
and inspire people around me to grow their careers which in turn leads to better
productivity. The other skill is the ability to delegate duties to others. Learning and
developing this skill is important as it will ensure I can identify the right people to do a
certain operation. It is also important in ensuring that people in a team are assigned tasks
that best suit their skills. The third skill I would develop is the ability to adapt to knowledge
to new situations. This skill is crucial since it will enable me to know and apply knowledge
to solve emerging problems in the workplace or within a team. It will also enable me to pool
the pieces of knowledge together to find new solutions to the emerging situation hence
ensuring a continuous flow of work. The fourth skill I would develop is the ability to
escalate issues to the management or team leader without fear. Knowing how to share
information with the management is important to ensure they help me achieve the assigned
work. This skill includes knowing what, how and when to share with the boss to maximize
one’s ability to complete the assigned tasks. Developing the highlighted will enable me to
