Governor – Jean Rutan North Florida District Governor – Daniel RichToday’Today’s meeting at Tick TockIn attendance at the meeting were Scott, Vi, Viki, Jim and Jane Ridings,Jean and Rick Rutan, Lee and Judy Warnock, Sue Foster, Laura andCJ Morris.The club has received a thank you card from Chuck Hayworth for thekind planter we sent him.Next meeting 6/21 at Tick Tock. Please be there and bring a friendand/or a potential new member! While our efforts to secure a golfer for the Junior Golf tournament, the club decided to make their donation of $250.00 to the tourney. A check will be sent to the Sarasota Club, which is in charge of putting on the event.Lee reported that weve receivedour first check of the season forworking at Tropicana at the PapaJohns pizza stand with the St. Peteclub. The check was $300.00.
  2. 2. While not an official Optimist function, Rick Rutans 85thBirthday party was held June 4th. Nearly 70 people were inattendance. All had a great time. Rick asked that no giftsbe given, instead, everyone was asked to bring a donationof paper products to be given to the Ronald McDonaldHouse.
  3. 3. Bunco Report Vi gave us a report on the Bunco Party held May 21st at Rick and Jean Rutans house. The clubs profit $290 was very nice and since this wasnt a budgeted fundraiser, its extra money for the club to use for youth activities. Viki was the big winner of the evening, taking home the 1st place prize of a $70 gift certificate to Jennifer Maldonados massage. The last place prize went to Scott Kaplan, which proves you cant always be lucky. It’ It’s MyNearly all men can stand Birthday!   4. 4. The Bowling Party for the Salvation Army kidswas held at Seminole Lanes. Our JOOI club was also inattendance. In all 40 people attended and/or bowed.The kids bowled 2 games and received pizza and adrink. All expenses were picked up by the club. Leewas in charge of organizing this event. Scott was theretaking photos and together, they will be writing up a CPAbook for our club for this years competition.
  5. 5. Raffle TicketsThe big news from the meeting was thedrawing of the raffle tickets. We sold$886.00 in tickets this year, much morethan last year! The big ticket seller was, ofcourse, Jim Ridings, selling $315.00 of thatamount. For his efforts, he won a $50 gascard! The winners were: Alden Hotel stay: Sue Foster Publix Gift Card: Quill Turk Outback Steakhouse: Linda Dawley Derby Lane Supper Club: Jane RidingsThanks to everyone for their efforts in thisgreat fundraiser! When you arrive at a fork in the road - take it. Yogi Berra 50/50 In keeping with the luck, Jane Ridings won the 50/50 drawing but couldnt find the Joker. She got the 5 of Hearts. The pot now stands at $270 to the winner. Next time will be higher!Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.Kenneth Blanchard
