Here is a handout about the elements and principles of design.Go to the LA county museum of art website https://collections.lacma.org. (Links to an external site.) and find an artwork that interests you. Keep in mind some artworks will be easier to discuss in the context of the EPOD. Make some notes as you explore artworks before you finalize your choice. You may also use the search in the LACMA site to find specific art periods, movements, or artists you have interest in.First tell me the name of the artists, title, date, medium, as well as the art movement or time period it comes from. Do not do this in list form, but full sentences in your own words.Next, evaluate the art using the elements and principles of design (EPOD). You must thoroughly discuss at least one EPOD in context to the work. You must also explain how the artists choices in using this EPOD makes the work feel to you. Make sure to give reasons why you feel that way in your explanation, do not simply list EPOD. As always, make sure to be clear and thorough in your response, and fully explain your ideas.Your discussion must include a clickable link to the art you referenced. To create clickable links, simply past a url and hit “return” on the keyboard to convert it to a blue clickable link. If your discussion used any quotes or references from other writings, you must include a headline at the bottom noting “Words Cited” with the links under included.General Discussion Guidlines:1. Structure your response in the same way the discussion prompt was written (ie. Part one, then part two, etc.). 2. Format it like a formal essay, with correct grammar, paragraph breaks, and full and complete sentences. 3. Proof read, and take your time. These are not Quick responses, but should be college level short essays essentially. 4. Make sure you connect back to what the lectures in both content and vocabulary. 5. Expand on every idea thoroughly, every statement should be explained with why or how. For example “I find the color interesting because……”, OR “The work impacts me because……”, etc.
