  5. 5. “Deliver” in the New Testament παραδοθήζεηαι – paradothesetai: hand over; give over; entrust ―Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death ‖Deliver (Matthew 20:18) ῥύομαι – rhysai: to rescue from danger, preserve someone from someone or something ―who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, ‖ (2 Corinthians 1:10)
  6. 6. ―God is to us a God of deliverances; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death.‖ (Psalm 68:20)

  8. 8. ―And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to mein the Hebrew dialect, ‗Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.‘ ―And I said, ‗Who are You, Lord?‘ And the Lord said, ‗I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. ‗But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you; rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.‘ ‖ (Acts 26:14–18)
  9. 9. Delivered from Satan to God―And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.‖ - Matthew 6:13
  10. 10. Delivered from Satan to God ―And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walkedaccording to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. ‖ (Ephesians 2:1–2)―The Lord‘s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, ifperhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. ‖ (2 Timothy 2:24–26) ―Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise alsopartook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives‖ (Hebrews 2:14-15)
  11. 11. Delivered from Error to Truth―We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is notfrom God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. ‖ (1 John 4:6)
  12. 12. ―There is another reaction thatthe evil frequently engender in us: confusion. Describing anencounter with an evil person, one woman wrote, it was ‗as if I‘d suddenly lost my ability to think.‘Once again, this reaction is quite appropriate. Lies confuse. The evil are ‗the people of the lie,‘deceiving others as they also build layer upon layer of self- deception.‖ - M. Scott Peck People of the Lie
  13. 13. Delivered from Error to Truth―I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. ‖ (John 14:16–17)―But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; forHe will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. ‖ (John 16:13) ―always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. ‖ (2 Timothy 3:7) ―I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth. ‖ (3 John 4)
  14. 14. ―I am always asked this question...what do you think is the main problem facingthe church? I always answer basically the same way. The main issue facing the church is the lack of discernment. That is the main issue facing the church. The church doesnt distinguish between truth and falsehood. It has a defective immune system. It has a case of spiritual AIDS. It does not have the ability to fight error because it doesnt know the truth. It doesnt have enough truth antibodies to fight off error. The church is ignorant. It is blissfully ignorant and consequently it is victimized easily by error.‖ - John MacArthur

  18. 18. ―Jesus reaches out and touches the leaper. Somehow, instead of the infection being passed to him, hiswholeness, his ‗cleanness,‘ is transmitted to the leper instead. Jesus allowshimself to be touched by the woman with the issue of blood, whose every touchwould render someone else unclean; butpower flows instead from him to her, andshe is healed, He touches the corpse of the window‘s son at Nain, and instead of Jesus contracting uncleanness, the corpse comes back to life.‖ - N. T. Wright
  19. 19. Delivered from Sin to Righteousness―Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. ‖ (Romans 6:11)―But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. ‖ (Romans 6:22)―For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. ‖ (Romans 8:2)―For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. ‖ (Galatians 5:13)
