AIESEC Sydney: an era of change! <ul><ul><li>1 st one of its kind member induction conference, Activ8Con </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>OGX raised 25 EPs </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>UR hosted a successful Alumni Night </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>TM arranged a gaming night and amazing race for LC bonding </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>MAC achieved 388 sign-ups for EPs </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>AIESEC NSW State Conference had 30 delegates from AIESEC Sydney </li></ul></ul>

Finance Portfolio@AIESEC Sydney <ul><ul><li>The first half of 2011 saw @Sydney Finance Portfolio rising up to the role of helping each portfolio realise their potentials whilst aligning their performance to the overall objective of growth and sustainability .   </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The strong financials provide evidence for the effective investment strategies as well as the efficient financial process in place. </li></ul></ul>

Financial Snapshots <ul><ul><li>Improved income (18.4%) for Jan-June 2011  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A combined effort of justified cost cuts and effective external relationship management esp. the Business School. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Increased efficiency in investment strategies </li></ul></ul>

    7. 8. In vestme nt with a Pu rpo se! (Summary) Activ8Con $810.43 for a beautiful lecture theatre, Thai food for lunch and snacks all along the way! Alumni Night $1819.57  for a fully catered entrees, a glamorous location and miscellaneous which will be sponsored by the Business Faculty. Gaming Night and Amazing Race $100   for food arrangement, games and such Merchandise $1024  worth of pens, banners, t-shirts and stickers Marketing Materials and a printer for the office     $600 worth of postcards and a printer for the office to print out all the marketing materials such as posters and flyers  IN COLOUR Conferences Subsidies worth $3500 from the Business Faculty in the form of sponsorship as well.

Investment-Member development Financial support in providing   loan contract to selective eager members to be able to attend StateCon A strong LC culture “ Marmalade and Jam” Weekly LCMs with bonding sessions, portfolio updates, discussions etc. Record LCM attendance of 75% AMAZING RACE AND GAMING NIGHT

Investment – Exchange <ul><ul><li>Weekly Information Sessions & Sign up Stalls ran for 4 consecutive weeks </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Strategically chosen locations targeted at faculty specific students for exchange programs to increase sign up rate </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>BBQ, cake stalls to provide platform for promoting AIESEC Exchange Programs throughout the semester. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

Investment – External E & A <ul><ul><li>Alumni Relationship </li></ul></ul><ul><li>- Alumni Night organised by ICX welcomed 34 AIESEC alumni to network and share experiences with current AIESECers in a smart casual corporate setting. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Increased Alumni database from 6 to 34. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Positive feedback from both alumni and members requesting for similar events in the future. </li></ul></ul>

Investment – External E & A <ul><ul><li>Brand Awareness on Campus </li></ul></ul><ul><li>- Merchandise e.g. pens, tshirts, banners custom made in India to take advantage of the current high AUD value .  </li></ul><ul><li>- Pamphlets, posters, brochures delivering AIESEC message to students. </li></ul><ul><li>- Presence on web2.0 namely Twitter and Facebook for easy access and student demand. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Spent $1024 on merchandise, compared to no merchandise over the last few years </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>477 twitter followings and 301 AIESEC Sydney Facebook group members </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Students able to identify AIESEC Sydney 'Superman' Tshirts and our mission! </li></ul></ul>

SLAP brings together a special taskforce with the mission of creating an innovative platform to raise TNs as language teachers providing students an unique experience learning second languages in a fun and interactive environment at affordable price Project SLAP

Other Finance Roles Tracking & Communicating   - Weekly LCM brief on financial standing promotes transparency of the system as well as portfolio operations. - Interacting with other portfolios informally and formally helps tracking and evaluating the respective performance. <ul><li>Banking & Accounting </li></ul><ul><li>- Weekly FN team meeting  agenda includes updating Quickbooks, analysing portfolio performance, audit documentation etc. </li></ul><ul><li>- Immediate cash debits and cheque banking controlled by VP. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Received UNQUALIFIED Quarterly Audit </li></ul></ul>Budgeting   - In the event of expenditure, the budget accompanies negotiations with the EB team to ensure long term sustainability and optimal allocation of funds.
