  2. 2. <ul><li>In the book, Twisted, Bethany was stuck in a situation where nude pictures of her were exposed to the entire school. Though the main spread of the pictures was not done through Cell Phones; any type of sending explicit messages or photos electronically is considered sexting. </li></ul>How is Sexting Related to Twisted
  3. 3. What is sexting? <ul><li>The act of sending sexually explicit messages or photos electronlically, primarilly between cell phones. </li></ul>
  4. 4. We surveyed 100 students from West Senior about sexting and this is what we found…… Our Research:
  5. 5. <ul><li>99% of the 100 we surveyed have Cell Phones. </li></ul><ul><li>National Survey says that ~82% of teens own cell phones. (“ProQuest1”) </li></ul>
  6. 6. 89% of West Seneca West students have texting/picture messaging <ul><li>In one national survey they estimated 76% of teens (ages 13 - 19) have texting/picture messaging </li></ul><ul><li>(“ProQuest1”) </li></ul>
  7. 7. 58% of West Seneca West students have sent/received nude pictures In a national survey, they estimated only 18% of teens have participated in acts of “sexting” (“Proquest”)
  8. 8. <ul><li>Of those 58%, 25% said that those pictures have reached multiple people. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Interesting fact! </li></ul><ul><li>Out of the 100 students we surveyed 61% of them were not virgins. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Our conclusion- <ul><li>Sexting is bad. </li></ul><ul><li>It drastically affect a persons’ image </li></ul><ul><li>It harms people mentally and emotionally, and possibly physically. </li></ul><ul><li>DON’T DO IT. :) </li></ul>
