  • If customers are taking the time to read your blog, look at your website, or follow your Twitter, they want content that is going to keep them interested and tell them information they didn’t already know Make sure your content is worth the time your followers are putting in If it’s not you will lose followers
  • When you are writing on your site, whether it’s the information on your Facebook profile or a description of your services on your website, keep keywords in mind Keywords are the words that people will type into the “search bar” on search engine sites such as Google and Yahoo Search engines are designed to find results that have the most connections to the particular keyword a user types into a search The more frequently you use a keyword in your writing the more likely you site will come up in searches It is even more effective to use keywords in your website titles
  • If you only have a small baseball glove you may catch one ball at a time, but if you have a wide net you can catch many at the same time Similarly to social media- if you spread your resources out across the many social media interfaces the more likely you are to catch the eye of a potential client
  • Start by evaluating your sites Analytics helps you to find out if and when your site is being visited and other useful information After analyzing your websites’ effectiveness you are able to discover what you can do to make your social media more effective For example if one site is being visited more often than another- make sure your sites are obviously linked to one another so that people are being navigated around your sites Google offers free analytics!
