  9. 9. We learn by telling stories.<br />
  10. 10. Learning is remembering.<br />
  11. 11. We remember things that…<br />
  12. 12. Make sense to us<br />
  13. 13. Have meaning to us<br />
  14. 14. Are personally significant to us<br />
  15. 15. Have emotional impact to us.<br />
  16. 16. In other words…<br />
  17. 17. We remember our stories.<br />
  18. 18. Yeah, but<br />
  19. 19. Why DIGITAL stories?<br />
  20. 20. And we remember 50% more if images are added.<br />
  21. 21. Images and digital stories go together like…<br />
  22. 22.
  23. 23. AND to learn anything we need to first pay attention.<br />
  24. 24. But we don’t pay attention to boring things.<br />
  25. 25. For kids born in the 21st century<br />
  26. 26. Some of our stories are pretty boring.<br />
  27. 27. Kids are wired for speed and novelty.<br />
  28. 28. And if we don’t get their attention…<br />
  29. 29. We won’t bridge them to deeper learning.<br />
  30. 30. Yeah, but…<br />
  31. 31. The computers in my classroom are old.<br />
  32. 32. The computer lab is always booked.<br />
  33. 33. And I don’t have time to learn these new programs.<br />
  34. 34. True, but…<br />
  35. 35. If we believe it will improve learning<br />
  36. 36. We’ll find a way. In fact…<br />
