  1. 1. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
  2. 2. Movie Editing Software <ul><li>iMovie </li></ul><ul><li>iMovie allowed us to use precision editing which meant our transitions and cuts are placed right on the beat of the music, creating a good relationship between music and visuals. </li></ul><ul><li>Editing effects meant we could include colourisation in the stairs sequences. The image swaps between green and blue to match the coloured water in the kitchen scene. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Text could also be included to add a quirky twist, and emphasize the playful nature of the video. </li></ul><ul><li>‘ Beep Beep!’ should hopefully appear to the audience as a sound being made by the camper van to create a bigger personality. </li></ul>The ability to reverse shots and include transitions such as fade in and fade out were also available through iMovie.

Desktop Publishing Software <ul><li>Serif Photo/PagePlus </li></ul><ul><li>Original stills had to be taken for our ancillary tasks, but I manipulated them using Serif PhotoPlus to make them fit the conventions of those products and create a professional finish. I erased the background on the main image of the campervan. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Although the whole background has not been erased here, it did not appear like this on my magazine advert.
  6. 6. <ul><li>Layers were built up after transferring the manipulated image into Serif PagePlus to create the background, and allow for text to be placed over the top that can be viewed clearly. </li></ul>Added shadow under ‘Tour Dates’ to highlight. Built up more layers with image of CD cover and text. Red (house colour) borders.
  7. 7. Panasonic Digital Camera <ul><li>I used a Panasonic digital video camera to film the footage needed for our music video. This camera also has a function to take still images so I also used it for the stop frame animation. Being able to get the raw material for our video from one device proves the importance of technological convergence. </li></ul><ul><li>The stop motion creates a fast cut montage effect throughout the video… </li></ul>
  8. 14. <ul><li>Worm’s eye view, bird’s eye view, point of view are all shots used throughout to give the audience the right perspective of the camper van to match the story. </li></ul><ul><li>Close ups predominate because this is a common convention used in music videos. </li></ul>

Weblog ( <ul><li>I have used a blog to keep an up to date online diary of the planning process, creation and completion of my music video and ancillary tasks. </li></ul><ul><li>Videos, photos and Powerpoint slideshows can be uploaded to enhance the content on the blog so I took advantage of this. </li></ul><ul><li>Existing music videos, videos to show where our idea came from and slideshows of images appear on my blog. Along with a pitch we made to the class discussing our ideas with audience feedback. </li></ul>
  10. 16. Features on my Blog <ul><li>Here I created tabs which separates my works into sections, making it easier to find. </li></ul>Date of post Title Own choice of layout and background design.

Software Used Within Blog <ul><li>Slideshare </li></ul><ul><li>Used to upload Powerpoints and images of storyboards. </li></ul><ul><li>Flickr </li></ul><ul><li>Used to view photos of filming progress. </li></ul><ul><li>YouTube </li></ul><ul><li>Used to embed videos to help with planning and explaining points. </li></ul><ul><li>E.g. when analysing existing videos with theories. </li></ul><ul><li>All used to make my blog more creative and broaden the use of technology and ICT, helps it to be entertaining and break up large blocks of text. </li></ul>
