The concept is based on the implementation of AI to construction monitoring & planning activities. It considers using BIM models to map the DNA of a city.

BACKGROUND WHYTO HAVETHIS? | LET’S EXPLORETHE BENEFITS  Due to the diverse nature of the project and the parties involved, the project often prone to losses on account of miscommunication and other allied errors  Construction projects involve interdisciplinary approaches and cooperation between different agencies.  Planning and scheduling the activities on the site accounts to be a pivotal parameter in cost control Increasing Complexity in Design Requires development of efficient systems to manage planning activities

  5. 5. PREVIOUS WORKS Auto DCR is the most recent form of sanctioning platform used in the AEC industry This system improved the process but with changing needs of the industry more detailed & advanced forms of technologies are required

  8. 8. WHAT WE INTEND TO PERFORM Planning a city & maintaining it is a big challenge, from the lessons learnt with past experiences it is evident that the growth be sustainable and not cancerous. BIM provides a high LOD in expression of project scopes by all stakeholders & thus makes it easy to automate difficult tasks. Resources required by a city such as water, electricity & sanitary services can be better streamlined by predictive assistance from AI models. Disaster Management, when the models of buildings are available at central server or a block-chain it could be easier for the emergency response teams to locate areas of damage by running algorithms to perform the strength test & capabilities. Town Planning & regulatory authorities can have better information to ensure the use of structure for its built purpose & ensure that all norms are complied with. BIM provides Higher LOD for Projects Proponents submit their models for sanctioning Models Reviewed by Authorities Scale & Volume of Models submitted Response & reviews by the Sanctioning Authorities An algorithm could be triggered to learn model submitted & response accredited Finally with sufficient sample space, the algorithm can be completely trained to carry out autonomous planning bep.iecivil.com
  10. 10. ANSWERING THE INITIAL WHY? HOW CAN WE IMPLEMENT AI? Construction activities have a lot of data & involve complex analysis which could be automated. Right now paper work is makes it complicated & with no standards for digitization it is difficult to program a specific system for Automation. With BIM & proper workflows the software could be easily developed as things are more specific and carry details, unlike the Auto-DCR which uses a layer based differentiation BIM provides much clear approach. If suppose the PMC is having a 1 lakh proposals to be sanctioned every year, the AI can learn about 1 lakh proposals & then provide suggestions on topics such as Land- Use, Zoning, etc. making life of citizens more simple & harmonious to Nature. bep.iecivil.com
