Anamika at the Pcj Dehli Couture Week 2013

  1. 1. Anamika at The Pcj Dehli Couture Week 2013 Each outfit that adorned the ramp by designer Anamika Khanna was gorgeous and vintage inspired including the overabundance of florals and paisleys, ethnic embroidery, and interesting headgear. Her untitled collection used a lively palette of rich blues, yellows, reds, and of course a ton of gold and silver. Interestingly, what appeared to be lace-work, was actually Lucknowi chikankari presented as lace. Reportedly, about seven hundred artisans worked on developing fabrics for the forty pieces in this collection, dying, embroidering and treating them to create a unique base for her garments. She played to her strengths–tons of zardozi, flowing drapes, dhoti pants, capes and shararas in this collection Models were accessorised with maang-tika inspired metal mohawks, corset belts and chunky ear cuffs and neckpieces, creating a fierce look radiating feminine strength and gravity. We love Anamika Khanna here at Damn I Really Wanna Kiss You! We loved the play of the soft colours ,her embroidery-work is, as always, a perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and innovation. A bride in an Anamika Khanna will surely be sexy and elegant!! The collection yet again brings to the fore her flair and sheer brilliance as a designer.
