  3. 3. Logistics: <ul><li>Sub Protocol: </li></ul><ul><li>Call GL FIRST and convey issue. (010-4694-9821). We will do our best to find a sub for you. Please don ’ t call Helene directly. </li></ul><ul><li>Vacation Days: </li></ul><ul><li>7 consecutive days with one month notice. Fill out vacation form sent out by Helene and e-mail to her. TIER 1: 1 extra day per term can be given: up to 4 days per year. </li></ul><ul><li>Term Break: </li></ul><ul><li>You may take a term break as per your written Chungdahm Learning contract. Please beware that you may not receive a position specifically at Mokdong as we must hire a new instructor to replace you. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Line of Communication: <ul><li>Please talk to your GL first if you have any issues. </li></ul><ul><li>We will do our best to assist you and involve Helene (FM), Stevy (BM) or Korean staff only if necessary. </li></ul><ul><li>Please do not go directly to them first. </li></ul>

Demerits: <ul><li>Start week 3 </li></ul><ul><li>Count Homework (online and offline) </li></ul><ul><li>HW average below a B- </li></ul><ul><li>Review Test scores (See handouts) </li></ul><ul><li>Review Test scores below 60 for Memorization </li></ul><ul><li>Below 80 for Application- they only get one total demerit for Review Test despite 2 sections. </li></ul>

Mokdong Instructor Information Binder: <ul><li>Share your experiences, recommendations and advice with other instructors! </li></ul><ul><li>This will be kept in the Teacher ’ s Lounge so anyone may flip through it. It has a section for restaurants, doctors, education providers, hobbies, etc. </li></ul>

Class Structure and Methodology: <ul><li>(Review Class Structure from Program Guide) </li></ul><ul><li>-Weekly Goals: Choose one “ skill of the day ” and focus on that throughout the class and review before they go home. (Ex: Week 1: Contrast and Addition Transitions) </li></ul><ul><li>-You Tube videos- up to 5 min. – no more. Must discuss afterwards. </li></ul><ul><li>-Suggested goal of the week e-mail with different ideas for skills, critical riddles, student counseling activities etc.. </li></ul>
  12. 12. Student Management: <ul><li>-Rules day 1 and post. Be consistent. </li></ul><ul><li>-Give Student Questionaire. </li></ul><ul><li>-Write minimum 4 Enc. Tabs for this term-personalized with name </li></ul><ul><li>-Star of the Week </li></ul><ul><li>-Encourage Participation- multilateral vs. bilateral communication </li></ul><ul><li>-Positive encouragement, reinforcement even if wrong. </li></ul><ul><li>-Student Counseling: Why? How? </li></ul><ul><li>-Compassion for students: Why? How? (proud, stay at break and chat … ) </li></ul><ul><li>-Learn names, hobbies, ask about vacations, understand if tired, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>-Be sure to circulate around the room at least every 5 min. Sit ok sometimes- not too much! </li></ul><ul><li>-Demerits/Bonus Points </li></ul>
