Basic Information of Anuradha Koirala• Anuradha Koirala was born in Nepal and grew up to be an English teacher at a primary school at a young age.• Anuradha Koirala once said, "human trafficking is a heinous crime, the shame of human nature. She called all together to create a global society, where there is no longer human trafficking, because "we have to do for our daughter"• Anuradha Koirala received domestic violence from her husband and even made her have three miscarriages. This inspired her to stop sex trafficking and men abusing women.• She left her husband in later years and spent her salary of $100 to hire women to support her in stopping sex trafficking and domestic violence.• In the early 1990’s, more women needed Anuradha Koirala’s help and she set up a “House Mother” to help these girls recover.• Anuradha today is 61 years old and wants to continue her work of saving children and girls until she dies for it to carry on forever.

Information about the saving of Sex Trade• Anuradha Koirala has saved over 12,000 girls from sex trafficking since 1993 because of her organization Maiti Nepal• Anuradha has told men to STOP selling woman into enslaved sex trade and repeatedly raping and abusing them• Koirala has saved woman from being raped by taking them back to her shelter for the protection and healing of trafficking victims rescued. The Shelter Home provides awareness training, education, vocational training, as well as and counseling and medical advice to survivors of trafficking.• There has been an average of 100 girls saved in the shelter each year from sex trafficking• Anuradha Koirala is a hero to me because of her brave and courageous personality for saving woman being raped• In 2010 Anuradha was nominated as one of the top ten CNN heroes of the year• Koirala won the CNN Hero of the Year by the millions of votes by the nation in 2010 receiving $100,000 for her organization to use for the recovery of girls
