  3. 3. <ul><li>We use capital letters in the beginning of a sentence, the first letter. </li></ul><ul><li>We also use capital letters fir the first letter of proper nouns. </li></ul><ul><li>Eg: A fter school M ary goes home and starts her homework. M ary lives in N axxar . </li></ul>

Question Mark <ul><li>We put this symbol at the end of a question. </li></ul><ul><li>When a question is asked an answer is required. </li></ul><ul><li>You ask questions to get more information about something or someone, </li></ul><ul><li>Eg: Where do the colours of the rainbow come from ? </li></ul>
  5. 5. Full Stop <ul><li>We put a full stop at the end of a sentence. </li></ul><ul><li>Full stops are important so that we can present our ideas more clearly. </li></ul><ul><li>Eg: I go to school everyday. At school I play with my friends and learn. My favourite subject is English. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Comma , <ul><li>A comma is used to separate things in a list </li></ul><ul><li>Ex: Emma owns a cat, a dog, two rabbits, and six mice. </li></ul>

Exclamation Mark <ul><li>It is used after phrases that show shouting, example: </li></ul><ul><li>“ Watch out ! ” </li></ul><ul><li>It is used when showing astonishment, example: </li></ul><ul><li>The small fish ate the giant octupus ! </li></ul><ul><li>When we give orders, example: </li></ul><ul><li>“ Stop ! ” </li></ul><ul><li>“ Get out ! ” </li></ul>
