The Great Smoky Mountains• The Smoky Mountains get their name from the fog that is there.• The highest place along the Appalacian Trial is called Clingmans dome and it is 2.025 meters high.• Mt. Mitchell is the highest peak. (6683 ft.)• The Smoky Mountains are home to many plants and animals, like black bears, deer, and salamanders.
Grandfather Mountain • Grandfather Mountain has a swinging bridge that is 1 mile (1.610 mts) high. • Grandfather Mountains has a festival of Scottish games, called the Highland games, each year.
