  • In WebCT Campus Edition many of us used “Content Modules” to add files into a Table of Contents. In the new and improved Vista we have “Learning Modules”. You can add your files PLUS tools such as quiz, discussion or assignment to create an entire teaching sequence, or module of learning. The Australian Native Flora sequence above uses a range of linked files plus a quiz, a URL, an assignment and a frequently asked questions discussion topic (FAQs.)
  • Note that staff development will be available throughout the entire 18 month transition phase… and beyond!
  • The separation of the Teach and Build views shows new separation of those capabilities in members of the site
  • Major point They don't have to do anything initially CEDIR will reproduce their site as far as is possible in the new LMS
  • these are a few of the Vista features; what is important will vary from teacher to teacher

  • This is the Australian Native Flora sequence as it would be seen by students. The first item in the sequence is displayed as the module opens in a new window. Navigation is by the links in the left column.
  • The handout details many more small changes
  • Full details of these are available on the Vista Transition website, via CEDIR homepage
  • Significant increase in number of project supported by FSA 3 new learning designers working at CEDIR for next 18 months to cope with load (1 new fulltime and 2 part-time /job share on secondment from the Library.)
  • This is linked on the CEDIR homepage
  • Please have someone record the Q&A for addition to the FAQ page
  • Similar to CE this image lacks the left menu, but this can be revealed by the the student
  • Note the course management tools that are available on the toolbar gradebook, group manager, etc
  • This is the view used to add elements to the site It subdivides into 3 views offering differing capabilities This Basic view allows you to arrange the elements of the homepage or any other page
  • The Power view gives you access to all elements on a single screen
  • The Content Inventory groups elements by type and gives you access to eg all the content files, all the learning modules, etc
  • This has been added by CEDIR to assist and enrich staff use of Vista
  • This comes in one session at a time via clicks Give the audience time to understand the first before clicking on to the second
  • This says what we're doing to support them Current timeline has us contacting them individually in September
