I started running this past August and at first I couldn't even do 3k (not sure how many miles). I ran my first 10k a few weeks ago and came in 24th out of 250 women my age. I was so happy I almost cried. I find your Nike+ Challenges and facebook updates very motivating. When I am tired or it's cold and raining, I only have to think about Sarah's Pied Pipers.
