Global Teenager

 1. 1. Gender Equality
 2. 2. We can do it!

In Canada more and more women are choosing to do non traditional jobs.. Example: a woman being a mechanic. Usually you would not think that a woman would want to get dirty and do hands on work but in the last few years it’s becoming more common. In Canada it is no longer a “mans” job. Our government is even giving scholar ships to women who take courses in non traditional professions.

 3. 3. Business owners

Women in Canada also can run their own business or work for other business or companies. They can also hold higher level positions, manage or even be the boss. Example: The woman can be the manager of a company rather than just the the secretary.

 4. 4. We are who we choose to be..

For a long time women have been able to choose how they dress and how they portray them selves. We don’t have to wear skirts and dress like ladies, we can have our hair short or long and we can have piercing and tattoos. For us its alright to dress like a guy and own big motorcycles. Being females doesn’t limit us to much of any thing. We dress according to our personalities.

 5. 5. Video Interview #1

In the next few pages we ask female and male students there opinion on the following questions:

* do you treat your female friends the same as you would treat your male friends?

* Do you take male teachers more seriously than you would a female teacher?

* In your relationship, who has the most control?

* In your family, who is the more dominate one?

* Which parent brings home the bigger pay check?

* Does the male sibling have more privileges than the female sibling.

 6. 6. Video Interview #2
 7. 7. Video Interview #3
 8. 8. Interview

Interview with District 6 employ.

 9. 9. Opinions of foreign Countries

Throughout this project we have posed numerous questions to many different

countries throughout the world.

Although we may live in many different parts of the world, and in very different cultures, the majority of the ideas shared between the countries were very much the same. For example: the answers received from other countries were almost the opposite of what we expected to hear. Instead of the thoughts and values on gender equality being very different, they were nearly identical to those in our very own country of Canada.

We expected very stereotypical answers from our foreign counterparts concerning females in the workplace; however, we were surprised to find out that their countries are very much like our own. Women have equal opportunity in the industrial area as men do. As well as males have the same option of working in the home.
