More scientificknowledge, more tools, make more jobs, master nature, getmore power, cheaper power, struggle for a better life for yourchildren, health, prosperity, material security, shelter, bigger, faster, stronger, knowing more.Everyone knows thats progress. Thats not what were gonnaget. No money, scarcity, financial collapse, collapsed states, general precarity, energy crisis, low intensity global warfare, rapid advancing climate crisis.Thats the situation on the ground. People ask where did thefuture go? The glamourous versions. Were deliberatelychoosing to move away from that and into a non C20 space. Were moving into a situation with GenX in power and adepression. A depression where people are afraid of the sky.Thats what the next decade actually looks like, and, you’regonna live there.Bruce Sterling
