G a m e s C o n s o l e s ! ! From Sanaa… … Who likes pie :D All hail the sound of music!
My attempted decent introduction….

Hi!

Well as you all know, games consoles have been an important gadget in many people’s lives. Nearly every household now owns a games console of some sort. Mostly for the children who have no friends, would much rather “make love” with their games and play for hours straight with a slight obsession. But now also for the normal (and better) people….

The first major breakthrough of all gaming was the Playstation. People were in awe; it sold extremely well and was a huge success. This was mainly because it was the first CD-based games console (previous games consoles ran on cartridges)

Sony Playstation

The release of the PS (1995) was soon followed up by the Nintendo N64 in 1997. This immediately rivaled the Playstation in the market. But which do many users prefer??

I personally think it looks nasty….but I like the look of Harvest Moon!
ZAN(who knows a lot about games; I can expect a good answer) Sanaa- which do you prefer? The PS1 or the Nintendo N64? Zan- what’s the N64? *laughs* sorry but I really don’t know. Probably the PS, cos Nintendo games have less variety. Sanaa- okaaayyyy…… Portrayed by the monkey
Katie and her answer Sanaa- Hey Katie! Which do you prefer, the PS or the Nintendo N64? Katie- the PS. Sanaa- and why? Katie- cos the quality of the games is better Sanaa- ok, thanks very much
Sanaa- Zaki, the PS or the Nintendo N64? Zaki- probably the PS. Sanaa- and why? Zaki- Because it’s more reliable. Sanaa- I LOVE PIEEEE!!! Zaki- er….*walks off* Answers from Zaki [my cousin] Represented by the cute face

The people I

interviewed, along with

7 others, all gave me

their personal opinions

on which they preferred

and why. 60% preferred

the Playstation, for

various reasons.

The 40% who liked the Nintendo

better, said it was because it

looked more original (*snorts*)

and because it was easier to use.

overall results Why many preferred the PS1 to the Nintendo N64 “ the controls are easier to use” “ the games in general are better” “… ermm, I don’t know” “ the Nintendo N64 is ugly”

The X box sold 24 million units as of May 10 th 2006 =) which was also pretty good, seeing as it’s basically a cube…. Although not as cube-like as the Nintendo Gamecube…

But which one do people prefer???

In 2000 the Playstation 2 was launched. This was extremely successful, as along with the high-quality graphics of many of the games, the PS2 could also play DVDs and PS1 games O_o this had to rival the X-box, which had also been released during that time PS2 is the best-selling, most successful video game console in video game history to date, reaching its 120 millionth console shipment in 2007 .
Becky and Eve give me their opinions….. Sanaa- Hey Becky! Which do you prefer, the PS2 or the X-box? Becky- erm…PS2 Sanaa- why? Becky- Because they are both smelly and I have a PS1, so PS2 must be better than X-box Sanaa- Eve, which is better, PS2 or the X-box? Eve- PS2, cos I don’t have an X-box and they suck. Sanaa- why do you think they suck? Eve- I don’t know, cos they have a lame name- X-box! Sounds like some sort of porn getup…. Sanaa- ummm, okayyy…..
Steph answers my question Sanaa- hi! Which do you prefer, the PS2 or the X-box? Steph- PS2! I’ve never had an X-box! Sanaa- what do you like about the PS2? Steph- erm…I like the controls and stuff. They’re really easy to use.
Results

Again, I had interviewed 10 people with this question, of which three answers have been shown. From the pie chart, there is an equal amount of people who like the PS2 and the X-box, and 20% of people who said neither or found it too traumatic to decide.

Why people preferred the X-box to the PS2 “ it looks cooler” “ PS2 is annoyingly popular” “ I think the quality of the games is better”
Recently the Playstation 3 was launched. It could play PS1 and 2 games, DVDs, music and even had internet connection. Despite all this, the PS3 did not sell as well as it was expected to. Maybe this was because of the cost, as it cost £ 300 more than the PS2. It also caused many technical difficulties which put some people off apparently the games froze during play. Which is LAME. The PS3 soon had to rival the Wii, which revealed a whole new gaming experience, where the user is physically involved in the game they are playing =O
Hannah (T)'s opinions Represented by this beautiful picture Sanaa- Hannah! Which do you think is better, the PS3 or the Wii? Hannah- erm, the PS3. Sanaa- and why? Hannah- ummm, I don’t know, it sounds better.
( T he O ther) H annah’s O pinions Represented by the cutest vegetables ever Sanaa- which do you prefer, the PS3 or the Wii? Hannah- …I don’t know *laughs* I haven’t tried either of them. Sanaa- yeah, but if you could try one, then which one would you? Hannah- Wii, but I think PS3 is better to buy.
Final set of results *cheers*

From the results on the top

right, I can see that many

people would refer to buy/

try a Wii more than a PS3.

There are a few people who,

again, found it too life

changing to decide on one,

and made it into a big deal.

The reasons for choosing a

Wii over a PS3 are

understandable…..

Reasons, for choosing the Wii “ it looks a lot more fun!” “ the whole Playstation thing is getting old now” “ It’s definitely different to other gaming….stuff” “ it’s just cool”
Other games consoles I couldn’t be bothered to mention (and a fact about them) Gameboy Advance It was marketed at €129.99 on March 28th 2003 Nintendo Gamecube 22 million units sold as of June 2007 A PSP (Playstation Portable) Top selling game for the PSP is apparently GTA- Liberty City Stories
The end….. SO, that’s the end of my PowerPoint slideshow thingy. Many people think that gaming will lead to consoles with smaller sizes and larger memory spaces. The certain growing capabilities of them will mean that soon, consoles will be able to connect to other technology, will also be more economical and easier to carry around. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you love my picture *grins* From Sanaa…who likes pie As a last minute note I would also like to thank all of my friends And family who I interviewed
