  • We are going to look for boating marinas in BC. Supposing your patron had developed a new web-based GPS system which allowed marina owners to track boats that had reserved a berth in their marina. As the boat approached, the marina owner could contact the boat occupants, welcome them to the marina and guide them to their specific berth. The owner could also let them know what the dinner specials were in the marina’s restaurant and book them a table if they wished.
  • Let’s search on a well known local company, QLT. Does anyone know this company? QLT is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of therapies to treat eye diseases, cancer, urological and dermatological conditions.   • Suppose you were researching Google – the company and its stock price. You might be interested to know whether it’s still worth your while to buy this stovk, or if it is to late for the stock to rise. Having access to this database will allow you to see the opinions of anaysts at many investment banks. As you’ll see, the consensus is that there is still lots of room for the stock price to rise. If you find a good report in Investext, it may give you very useful industry data and statistics, as well as company info that is hard to find, eg, market share. For example, let’s look at the Jan23 report by the Stanford Financial Group on Google.
