  2. 2. WHO IS CHILD WORKER? <ul><li>According to Turkish Civil Law; </li></ul><ul><li>Everyone under age 18 is called child </li></ul><ul><li>W ho are between 15 - 24 considered as young workers </li></ul><ul><li>15 is the limit for defining child workers </li></ul>

  8. 10. EU AND PROJECTS ABOUT CHILD LABOUR <ul><li>IPEC (International Programmed on the Elimination of Child Labour) </li></ul><ul><li>Since 1992, Turkish government dwelling upon two projects with ILO (International Labour Organization) </li></ul>
  9. 11. <ul><li>101 action programmes were implemented </li></ul><ul><li>Reached 50.000 child workers </li></ul><ul><li>%60 of them withdrawn from work and placed in schools </li></ul><ul><li>250.000 families have received counselling assistance </li></ul>
  10. 13. ERAD I CAT I ON OF THE WORST FORMS OF CH I LD LABOUR PROJECT <ul><li>To eradict the worst forms of child labour till 2015 </li></ul><ul><li>To reduce child labour till 2007 </li></ul><ul><li>To prevent children work in dangerous areas who are under risk </li></ul>
  11. 14. OCCUPATIONAL TRAINING CENTERS <ul><li>346 centers </li></ul><ul><li>Children have apprenticeship training for 3 years </li></ul><ul><li>A fter training, they have their certificates </li></ul><ul><li>Only 123.000 children over 2 million 400 thousand can go to these centers </li></ul>
