The accession of Philip with an olive branch in the upper left. 400 BC $800 II to the Macedonian throne in 359 BC marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Greek World. Having made himself master of Greece by a mixture of military skill and diplomacy, he was free to pursue his greatest ambition - the conquest of the Persian Empire. On the reverse, a seated Athena with spear and shield, her right hand extended on which stands the figure of Nike. Nike crowns the first letter of Lysimachus name. Obverse shows a profile of the king, reverse with enthroned Apollo holding a bow and arrow with Greek inscriptions. Minted in Syria. 280-261 BC $6000 44496. Bronze tetradrachm coin of Artemis or Persephone with her hair bound with a wreath of the head of Kreusa, the back with a quadripartite corn leaves with four dolphins around on the obincuse square. 490-480 BC $900 verse, and a chariot drawn by four horses on the reverse.   6. 6. 44497. Silver Antiochos VII tetradrachm coin, the front with the head of the king, the reverse with Zeus enthroned, a Nike and scepter in hand. At its peak, the kingdom comprised almost all of the conquests of Alexander the Great with the exception of Egypt. Antiochos VII ruled from 138-129 BC and led a successful campaign in Palestine and Babylon. He ruled with competence and integrity but was killed in battle against the Parthian. Seleucid Kingdom, 12196 BC $500 44484. Silver Alexander the Great drachm coin struck at the Amphipolis mint sometime between 315 BC and 294 BC. The front carries a likeness of Hercules adorned with the head of the Thespian Lion, the killing of which was one of his great feats. It is believed that Alexander was the model for the face of Hercules in these coins. The reverse shows Zeus enthroned with an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and a scepter in his left. If his legs are crossed it would indicate that the coin was struck posthumously (struck after the death of Alexander). If legs are placed together it would indicate that the coin was struck during the lifetime of Alexander. In the right field an inscription meaning (Money of) Alexander, while on the left field contains the marks or symbols of the mint’s Magistrates. 315-294 BC, Macedonian, $150 43405. Silver tetradrachm of Phraates IV. Obverse with a bearded portrait, reverse with a seated archer with a bow, surrounded by inscriptions. Parthian, 38-2 BC $18,000 Call 1.800.426.2007 TO ORDER
