  1. 1. Future Funding & Tools – How to help volunteers to keep the network alive? introduction to the FANE future plans introduction to the FANE international volunteer board members' wishes and cooperation ideas for FLO and its member organizat ions

  3. 3. the Future Plans of FANE the funding from the EU ends at the end of year 2008 -> no employee working directly and exclusively for the network after that -> no funds for publications or any activities ( funds have to be applied by volunteers , if necessary)
  4. 4. the Future Plans of FANE international volunteer board the board will be in charge of all the tasks regarding FANE: updating the web page, applying for funding, planning the joint actions etc. so far members from Belgium, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland and Italy the first meeting on November 8 th , 2008 in Helsinki
  5. 5. the Future Plans of FANE applying funding for an international seminar ” Fairtrade and the environment” (funding is applied from the EU, ”Youth in Action” programme) the seminar would be organized in Chania, Crete, Greece, in March or April 2009 all the preparations have been so far and will be in the future volunteer based

  7. 7. What kind of support would Fairtrade Action Network need from FLO? (1) FLO and its member organizations could advertise FANE through media and their contacts, publications, etc FLO could encourage its member organizations to participate in FANE FLO could let their employees know about the existence of FANE and tools for campaigning and networking offered by FANE
  8. 8. What kind of support would Fairtrade Action Network need from FLO? (2) FLO and its member organizations could stimulate the discussions at the fairtradeaction.net forum and participate in them FLO could encourage their members to present the work they have done on volunteer management, campaigning and networking at fairtradeaction.net
  9. 9. What kind of support would Fairtrade Action Network need from FLO? (3) FLO and its members could offer training to FANE volunteers , opportunities for internships and participation in the events it organizes FLO could provide financial support for the implementation of projects coordinated by FANE members
  10. 10. In the future, what could be the role of FLO in Fairtrade Action Network? (1) “ I guess this depends on the collaboration dynamic between FLO and FANE members” “ it would be good to organize a member inquiry about FANE members’ ideas for future action (both nationally and internationally), then we could ask for specific assistance from FLO and its members and partners”
  11. 11. In the future, what could be the role of FLO in Fairtrade Action Network? (2) “ depends on FLO's aims regarding the building-up a volunteer network” “ in FANE there are also members from organizations that are not directly linked to the “Fairtrade family” , but are campaigning against social and environmental trade injustices – how do FLO and its member organizations feel about that?”
