Oxford Aviation Academy is the world’s leading independent provider of aviation
training, personnel solution and technical support services. The training centre
in Gatwick houses 9 Full Flight Simulators including classrooms for advanced
pilot training.


The site recently under went a £600,000+ refurbishment. Oxford Aviation
explored the opportunity to install a canteen. However due to operational and
costs restraints opted for a 24 hour fully integrated vending service.

Kevin Parham, Facilities Manager at Oxford Aviation was first drawn to the
Café Explorer concept on the LTT stand at the Facilities Show May 2010.

  served coffee in 7oz plastic cups!
  The new coffee offering serves
  coffee shop style drinks in a 12oz
  paper cup, this certainly beats the
  7oz plastic cup offering we
  previously had, our visitors can
  now enjoy a high street equivalent
  without leaving the site.”

On the first floor is an alternative choice serving 9oz drinks for visitors requiring
a quick drink before entering the simulator.

The Service

  “ We aimed to create a
  refreshment area as near as
  possible to a full canteen service.
  With the inclusion of Bon Appetit
  the ready meals concept, I think
  we ticked all the boxes. I was
  amazed we could fit so much in
  the confines of this area.
  LTT kept to the deadlines when
  installing the new machines
  and housing, fitting in with the
  contractors.”

LTT visit the site everyday ensuring machines are fully operational and stocked.
With a 4 hour breakdown response service.
