3-5/8” stud @ 24”o.c. using R-13 unfaced insulation
with ONE layer of 5/8” Type X gypsum provides a 50
STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating, beating the
generic studs, like Clark Dietrich, by nine

fewer layers of gypsum board to attain your desired
