Established more than two decades ago by enthusiast and art collector Russell Singler, Art You Grew Up With continues to grow with innovative product offerings from an exclusive portfolio. Our reputation for quality, service and variety is renowned with collectors around the world. From our beautifully framed limited edition fine art prints, featuring hand-numbered embossed seals and signed certificates of authenticity, to special events and exhibitions, we are the industry leader for collectable art.
Special Events & Exhibitions
As the exclusive UK representative for The Art of Dr Seuss for over eight years, Art You Grew Up With curated a retrospective exhibition that toured the country in 2009.
As the official worldwide licensee and distributor for The Art of Nickelodeon, we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants in 2009 with an extensive exhibition of original and limited edition art. Supporting the Children’s Charity “Childline”, we held a celebrity launch and auction that garnered much press activity and public attention.
As the Fine Art Publisher for the Art of Mr. Men and Little Miss, we launched a 35th Anniversary exhibition celebrating the work of creator Roger Hargreaves and his son Adam. A special Q & A, cake and fun was had by all, and the occasion reached the front page of The Times National Newspaper. Originally planned to run for a month, the show ran for 2, with more than 300 people attending every day.
Back in 2006, as the official Fine Art publisher of the Art of Aardman, we ran several events with the directors of Wallace & Gromit The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, animation legends Nick Park and Steve Box. A cracking time was had by all!
Thanks to our special and cherished relationship with the creator of Danger Mouse, British animation legend Brian Cosgrove, back in April 2001 we hosted an exclusive meet and greet with Brian and the voice of Danger Mouse himself, national treasure David Jason. Sixty lucky collectors were treated to joint signatures on an original piece of animation history of their choice, and a wonderful time was had by all.
As the chosen art partner for the glittering annual event Top Marques Monaco, the only live supercar show in the world, we represented the most respected and seriously collected photographers and pop artists in the world. Selling unique and valuable works from the likes of Paul Karslake and the late Steve Kaufman.
Artist RELATIONSHIPS
PAUL KARSLAKE From modern surrealism to photo-realism, Paul prides himself on being able to work in any style and any medium. Environmental issues, iconic heroes and human suffering are subjects which often feature in his art. Still life, animals and portraits are frequently interpreted with his own humour. Inspired by famous personalities whose imagery, persona or music has survived, often against the odds, his collection captures the first modern fashion icon of Audrey Hepburn, the dark fascination of the Kray Twins, the enigmatic stare of David’s Eye and the eternal survivor Keith Richards.
STEVE KAUFMAN Former assistant to renowned Pop Artist Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufman...aka SAK...is considered one of the most important and talked-about Pop artists of our time. He had his first one-man show at the age of 8, received a scholarship to The Parson’s School of Design at age 14, and by age 16, participated in his first group show at the Whitney Museum in New York. Kaufman’s first one-man show was at a bank in the Bronx. The paintings were donated to the Jewish Holocaust Museum of Art in Brooklyn. In 1972, Kaufman was chosen along with nine other students from NYC to participate in a cultural exchange between Japan and the U.S., and was soon awarded a scholarship at Parson’s School of Design for fine art and design.
ALLYSON VOUGHT A close friend and incredible talent, Allyson Vought's work can be seen galleries and studios around the world. Mostly known for her Ceramic and Bronze work, she was also responsible for the wonderful friezes placed on the 5th Avenue Warner Bros Store. She likes to call it her Mt. Rushmore of projects. Allyson created bronzes, ceramic art tiles and paper sculptures for the Warner Brothers Studio Stores as well as commissioned pieces for art galleries worldwide.
