Using LinkedIn LinkedIn is the de-facto social media site for business • • • • • Expand on your college profile Join and engage relevant Geographical, Business and Education Groups Create your own LinkedIn Group for alumni and for relevant business sectors Set up alerts for the people you wish to contact, e.g. alumni, or business Use profile organiser tools to help keep on top of you activity

Using Video sites • • • • • Not all videos need opt in from students Wonderful opportunity for student and staff creativity Most video sites allow you to add a title, description and tags to any video you upload Use search engine friendly descriptions Where possible, embed videos into your website – it’s cheap!

Using Facebook • See how you are already represented (all permutations) • You will need a Profile before you can create a facebook corporate page • Title, Body and Image are fundamental for both attracting people to your page as well as for SEO • Adding both photos and videos will increase engagement and the time each visitor spends on your page • Integrate content and twitter feeds using Yahoo Pipes and Involver.com • Invite and include relevant groups and people, encourage feeds from existing groups
