  25. 25. •ADVANTAGES Biomass used as a fuel reduces need for fossil fuels forthe production of heat, steam, and electricity forresidential, industrial and agricultural use. Biomass is always available and can be produced as arenewable resource. Biomass fuel from agriculture wastes maybe asecondary product that adds value to agricultural crop. Growing Biomass crops produce oxygen and use upcarbon dioxide.

Land used for energy crops maybe in demand forother purposes, such asfaming, conservation, housing, resort or agriculturaluse. Some Biomass conversion projects are from animalwastes and are relatively small and therefore arelimited.
