  2. 2. Activity <ul><li>Completed the self-assessment exercise at a team level, involving a mixed group of staff from a range of programme areas </li></ul>
  3. 3. Outcomes <ul><li>developing the department’ s existing mental health policy to cover recruitment and support of people with mental health problems and encouraging the adoption of the revised policy across the wider PCT </li></ul><ul><li>reviewing sickness absence/return to work policies against the standards set by the CD and highlighting gaps/areas for improvement </li></ul>

Outcomes <ul><li>raising staff awareness of support available including through the departmental induction process </li></ul><ul><li>providing training for managers in addressing mental well-being as part of routine management practice, and a checklist for line management meetings to support this </li></ul><ul><li>ensuring stress is included in the risk assessment process by issuing the HSE Management Standards to all staff as a framework for addressing risks to mental health at work </li></ul>

Learning <ul><li>‘ b ottom-up’ team-level approach to undertaking the exercise with a mixed group of staff was effective </li></ul><ul><li>the process was inclusive and provided a realistic picture of mental health at work in the organisation </li></ul><ul><li>generated achievable actions that those involved could take direct responsibility for implementing </li></ul>
