World History Lecture 1

  1. 1. Welcome to the History of the World My name is Alfred. Please call me Sir Alfred. I will be your world history teacher for this year. History and Philosophy are my two majors when I was in the university.
  2. 2. Class Schedule We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 pm – 2:30, and every Friday at 8:45 – 9:15.
  3. 3. What are we going to do in World History? There will be lectures. There will group activities. There will be group reporting. There will be online activities. We will watch movies or video clips that are related in the lesson.
  4. 4. What are the kind of assessments in this class?  Weekly quiz every Friday.  Daily “pop up” quizzes.  Unit test  Midterm test  Final Test  Group activities  Projects  Assignments  Online activities

I expect that you prepare to learn.  You must have a separate notebook for this subject including pen or pencil for note taking.  You must be in your seat before the class begins.  You must follow instructions.  You must listen while I am giving lectures.

NO PUT DOWNS ARE ALLOWED. You must show Sir Alfred respect as a teacher and he will show you the same as a student.

  11. 11. Classroom rules and expectations for 9th grade Social Studies You must do your work. Assignments and projects must be completed on time. Please make every effort to do so. Late assignments will be worth no more than 80% of total points for the assignments.
  12. 12. Classroom rules and expectations for 9th grade Social Studies Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. If I caught you cheating on your assignment, quiz, and exams will receive 0% and parents will be notified.
