  2. 2. BUCKINGHAM PALACE BUCKINGHAM PALACE IS THE OFFICIAL LONDON RESIDENCE AND PRINCIPAL WORK PLACE OF THE BRITISH MONARC. LOCATED IN THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER, THE PALACE IS A SETTING FOR STATE OCCASIONS AND ROYAL HOSPITALITY. BUCKINGHAM PALACE HAS 775 ROOMS . JUST OPPOSITE BUCKINGHAM PALACE SOME DAYS A WEEK, THE FAMOUS CHANGING OF THE GUARDS TAKES PLACES. IT IS A PARADE FOLLOWED BY HUNDRED OF TOURISTS.
  3. 3. TOWER OF LONDON THE TOWER OF LONDON IS A HISTORICAL CASTLE ON THE NORTH BANK OF THE RIVER THAMES IN CENTRAL LONDON. NOBODY KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE TOWER EXCEPT FOR THE POPULAR “BEEFEATERS” , WHO HAVE GUARDED IT, FOR CENTURIES. THE TOWER OF LONDON IS USED AS A PLACE FOR EVENTS TOO, FOR EXAMPLE THE TOWER WAS THE ORIGINAL LONDON ZOO, COSTUMED GUIDES, REPRODUCTION OF ANCIENT TORTURE, PRESENTATION OF HISTORICAL EVENTS AND CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES.
  4. 4. THE CROWNS JEWELS IF YOU COME TO THE GRAND NEW JEWEL HOUSE AT THE TOWER OF LONDON YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF CROWNS, SCEPTRES AND SWARDS OF ENGLAND.
  5. 5. THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT THE BRITISH PARLIAMENT, WESTMINSTER PARLIAMENT OR SIMPLY WESTMINSTER, IS LOCATED IN THE PALACE OF WESTMINSTER. THE PARLIAMENT IS BICOMERAL, WITH ON UPPER HOUSE, THE HOUSE OF LORDS, AND A LAWER HOUSE, THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. IT IS LOCATED NEAR THE MOST FAMOUS RIVER OF THAMES. NEXT TO THE WESTMINSTER PARLIAMENT THERE’S THE WELLKNOWN BELL TOWER, CALLED BIG BEN.
  6. 6. THE BIG BEN BIG BEN IS THE NICKNAME FOR THE GREAT BELL OF THE CLOCK AT THE NORTH OF THE PALACE OF WESTMINSTER IN LONDON. THE TOWER IS NOW OFFICIALLY CALLED THE ELIZABETH TOWER. THE TOWER WAS COMPLETED 1858 AND HAD ITS 150 th ANNIVERSARY ON 31 st MAY 2009, DURING WHICH CELEBRATORY EVENTS TOOK PLACE.
  7. 7. WESTMINSTER ABBEY THE CURCH, BEGUN BY HENRY III IN 1245, IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT GOTHIC BUILDINGS IN THE COUNTRY. WESTMINSTER ABBEY IS STEPPED IN MORE THAN A THOUSAND YEARS OF HISTORY. BENEDICTINE MONKS FIRST CAME TO THIS SITE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TEN th CENTURY, ESTABLISHING A TRADITION OF DAILY WORKSHIP WHICH CONTINUES TO THIS DAY. WESTMINSTER ABBEY, LOCATED NEAR THE HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT , IS MORE A HISTORICAL SITE THAN A RELIGIUOS SITE. THE ABBEY ALSO SEVERS AS THE BURIAL GROUND FOR NUMEROUS POLITICIANS , SOVEREIGNS AND ARTIST. THE ABBEY IS STUFFED WITH TOMBS, STATUES AND MONUMENTS. IN TOTAL APPROXIMATELY 3300 PEOPLE ARE BURIED IN THE CURCH AND CLOISTERS. SOME OF THE MOST FAMOUS ARE DARWIN, NEWTON AND LIVINGSTONE.
