  2. 2. Job Mentoring Program <ul><li>Mission </li></ul><ul><li>The program aims at establishing collaborations with community, corporate and government partners, bridging the gap between internationally-trained and locally established professionals through mentoring. </li></ul>

Job Mentoring Program <ul><li>Background </li></ul><ul><li>Established in 2001. </li></ul><ul><li>Connects skilled immigrants with locally trained professionals in their respective occupations </li></ul><ul><li>Provides direction, guidance and clarity to skilled immigrants </li></ul><ul><li>Skilled immigrants develop professional networks and enhance their employability </li></ul>

Be a Mentor <ul><li>Our Mentors have : </li></ul><ul><li>Obtained local professional qualifications; </li></ul><ul><li>Min. 2 years of professional experience in Canada; </li></ul><ul><li>An understanding of the skills required to meet market demands; </li></ul><ul><li>Interpersonal skills, cross-cultural awareness and open-mindedness; </li></ul><ul><li>Willing to assist on a volunteer basis. </li></ul>

Be a Mentee <ul><li>If you: </li></ul><ul><li>Are educated or worked outside of Canada; </li></ul><ul><li>Are currently unemployed or underemployed; </li></ul><ul><li>Are committed to finding full-time employment; </li></ul><ul><li>Have little or no Canadian work experience in your field; </li></ul><ul><li>Have an Action Plan and a comprehensive resume. </li></ul>
