discusses the health information on the web and social networking sites context situating them within the interactive health communication as a source of information increasingly popular. Highlights through some research about YouTube as a source of health information and presents an exploratory study based on metric studies of information on the web about Dengue, in that channel. Were considered by a purposive sampling, the first 100 videos, and analyzed by the criteria of visibility, influence and engagement. The were published between the years 2006 and 2013, with 90% having less than 1 year of existence, indicating that the recurrence Youtube channel for disseminating health information about dengue is recent. The categories 'teaching' and 'News and politics' are better represented, totaling 54% of the universe analyzed. About visibility, the videos had 1413.995 unique views coming from 36 countries, as it was realized the influence of low participation profiles (institutions and individuals) related to health care, which tends to compromise the quality of the information; engagement also may be considered low in view of the few comments received.
