  1. 1. Pampanga Colleges Macabebe, Pampanga “Development of Assessment Tools” There are certain good practices that are considered good practices in developing this instruments. We consider a few of the standard assessment tools in the affective domain.  Self-report - This the most common measurement tool in the affective domain. It essentially requires an individual to provide an account of his attitudes or feelings toward a concept or idea or people.  Rating Scale - The basic feature of any rating scale is that it consist of a number of categories. These are usually assigned integers. The common example are the Likert scale and the 1-10 rating scales, for which a person selects the number which is consider to reflect the perceive quality of a product.  Semantic Differential Scale - (SD) Tries to assess an individual’s reaction to specific words, ideas or concepts in terms of rating on bipolar scales defined with contrasting adjective at each end.  Thurstone Scale - Is considered the father of attitude measurement. He addresses the issue of how favorable an individual s with regard to a given issue. He develop an attitude continuum to determine the position of favorability on the issue.  Likert Scale - Is a psychometric scale commonly involved in research that employs questionnaires. Genesis R.
