Founder of christianity

  1. 1.  Christianity developed out of Judaism in the 1st century. It is founded on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ  Jesus was the son of Joseph and Mary. He was born around 6 BCE in Bethlehem.
  2. 2.  Saint Paul the Apostle was a Christian missionary who took the gospel of Christ to the first-century world.  Some people say St. Paul was the true founder but most others argue against this, since the religion, Christianity, is based off of the life and teaching s of Jesus Christ.
  3. 3.  HERE ARE A FEWTEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST:  Jesus emphasizes, "Be sincere, not a hypocrite“  Jesus preaches, "Love your enemies; do not hate, be reconciled"  “Jesus and God are one” *these are just a few of many important teachings and quotes of Jesus.
  4. 4.  Jesus Christ was born at around 6 BCE in Bethlehem  Little is known about Christ’s but he founds Christianity as a young man.  Christians believe Jesus died for the sins of all people and rose from the dead  Most of his life is told through the New Testament Bible, written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
  5. 5.  As a young adult, Jesus worked as a carpenter, like his father.  John the Baptist, upon seeing Jesus, declared him son of God.  Jesus and his 12 disciples met for the Passover meal, and he gave them his final words of faith.  Soon after the Last Supper, Jesus is arrested by the Romans.
  6. 6.  Jesus is crucified by the Romans  Jesus resurrects on Easter Sunday.  Constantine the Great, an emperor of Rome, converted to Christianity.This influences many citizens inside the Roman Empire to convert as well.This is how the religion really expands.
  7. 7.  The life of Jesus Christ impacted people throughout the world.  His life, death, teachings, and resurrection inspired many people and as a result, Christianity is the world’s most followed religion.
