Maintenance of Machine & Main Functioning Parts of Machine

  1. 1. Presentation Report On Industrial Training “Maintenance of Machine & Main Functioning Part of Machine” By Rohit G. Sorte
  2. 2. Covering Area • About Industries • Manufacture of Wood pulps • PM-7 Machine Working Process • Maintenance (Shutdown/Breakdown) • Pumps • Bearing
  3. 3. Profile • Bilt is a flagship of the us$4 bn Avantha Group. • India`s largest manufacturer of Writing and Printing Paper. • Bilt is largest exporter of Paper. • Bilt(Ballarpur Industries Limited) name changes to BGPPL(Ballarpur Graphic Paper Production Limited.
  4. 4. Bilt Has Six Manufacturing Unit in India 1. Ballarpur, Maharashtra 2. Yamuna Nagar, Haryana 3. Kamalapuram, Andhra Pradesh 4. Bhigwan, Maharashtra 5. Ashti, Maharashtra 6. Gaganpun, Orissa
  5. 5. logs •Wood blogs from forest De-barking •Process of removing bark from wood Manufacture of Wood Pulp
  6. 6. Chipper & washing •Chipping of wood and washing of wood to remove unwanted material like Sand Refiner Defibration •Separating of cellulose fiber
  7. 7. Bleaching •Used for whitening of paper Paper Machine •Pulp is turn into Paper
  8. 8. About PM-7 • Capacity of PM7 155000TPA • Deckle at Pope Reel 5.46mts • PM operating speed 1100 mpm • Budgeted of machine 525crs • GSM Range 54-90 gm/meter • Production 519TPD(60GSM, 1100m/min)
  9. 9. PM-7 Machine Process Details Sil Hydraulic Headbox  Where many of the important paper properties are determined. Press Section Removal as much water as possible from the paper wet and compresses it. Wet pressing less a significant affect on paper properties(when the paper wet strength is good).
  10. 10. Dryer Section Water is removed from the paper by evoporation In dryer roll saturated steam is used There are 43 dryer rolls out of which 31 at predryer 12 at postdryer rolls. Vacuum Roll Water is removed from the paper by Vacuum pressure. There are 18 vacuum Rolls
  11. 11. Sizer The starch is applied on the both the side of paper to give properties for printing and writing paper. Steam consumption are achived
  12. 12. Soft Calender Roll Give surface properties like gloss, smoothness 2 sidedness monitoring & calliper profile. The machine is equipped with one heated cylinder and one (ACR) Adjustable Crown Roll.
  13. 13. “D” Reel It provide smooth reeling technique Winder The winder cut the reel into smaller rolls according to customer order.
  14. 14. Maintenance (Shutdown/Breakdown) • Job screening • Scoping • Availability • Planning • Schedule • Execution • Close-out
  15. 15. • Job Screening Priority of doing job Risk of doing job • Scoping Replace Repair Patch up Defer work
  16. 16. • Availability Availability of material Availability of man power • Planning Job tasks Labor management Cost estimate Safety
  17. 17. • Scheduling Time management Availability of material • Execution Work to do • Close-out Inspection of work Completing the job
  18. 18. Pumps • Pumps means conversion of mechanical energy to hydraulic energy. • Pumps are used to move Fluid.
  19. 19. • Dynamic pressure pumps ( thronging ) Centrifugal Pumps Fluid move from center to outer side
  20. 20. • Jet pumps Suction of fluid & rotation and discharge
  21. 21. Positive displacement Pumps It is Physical pushing
  22. 22. Positive displacement Pumps • Reciprocating Pump • Rotary Pump
  23. 23. Reciprocating Pump • Piston Pump • Diaphragm Pump
  24. 24. Piston pump  Where Piston is used to give motion to the fluid by crank mechanism
  25. 25. Diaphragm Pump
  26. 26. Rotary Pump • Gear pumps  A gear pumps which is used as a meshing gears, to pump the fluid by displacement.
  27. 27. Screw pump • A pump that raises water by means of helical impellers in the pump casing.
  28. 28. Lobe Pump
  29. 29. Bearing Basic principal of Bearing • Load Carrying Capacity and Life • Rigidity • Friction and Increases in Temperature • Speed • Lubrication • Design of Bearing arrangement
  30. 30. • Load Carrying Capacity and Life Rating life Load carrying capacity Operational reliability • Rigidity The Rigidity is determined by the type, size and operating clearance of the bearing.
  31. 31. • Friction and Increases in Temperature Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements. Sliding against each other increases in temperature • Speed The rate of change of its position
  32. 32. • Lubrication Important for reliable operation, long operating life, smooth working of bearing and to resist from corrosion. • Design of Bearing arrangement As per international standardization (ISO280) Requirement of machine.
