Chumash <ul><li>The Chumash lived near the central part of the coast. </li></ul><ul><li>They ate acorns, deer, fish, and whales. </li></ul><ul><li>Their homes were dome shaped ,covered with woven grass. </li></ul><ul><li>What they did for traditions is they used clam shells for trading. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Cahuilla <ul><li>The Cahuilla lived near the Mojave Desert. </li></ul><ul><li>They ate antelope and small animals. </li></ul><ul><li>Their homes were made out of reed. </li></ul><ul><li>What they did for customs is men sang songs now called “bird songs’’. </li></ul>

Miwok <ul><li>The Miwok lived near Sierra Nevada . </li></ul><ul><li>They ate deer, fish, and acorns. </li></ul><ul><li>Their homes in winter were half underground, covered with dirt; in summer, they had bark homes. </li></ul><ul><li>Their traditions were to dance in costumes made from animal skin. </li></ul>
