  1. 1. ALYS ROBINSON
  2. 2. Purposes of research  To develop more of an understanding about your product  Find out about the company that produces the product  Understand products personality  Find out what customers think about product and brand/ give advise
  3. 3. Primary research  This is research that is coming straight from the original source.  Reliable and not modified throughout.  Two types of primary research is qualitative and quantitative.  Can be collected by questionnaires and interviews.  Primary research is more relevant to the needs of the clients.  For my project I will create questionnaires and interviews
  4. 4. Qualitative research  Qualitative research gathers information that is not in numerical form.  For example, diary accounts, open-ended questionnaires, unstructured interviews and unstructured observations.  This research is useful to find out the way in which how people think or feel.  My interviews will be quantitative, as this will tell me how people feel about my ideas
  5. 5. Quantitative research  Quantitative research gathers data in numerical form  This can be put into categories, or in rank order, or measured.  This type of data can be used to construct graphs and tables of raw data. Which is easier to look at than qualitative research  My questionnaires will be quantitative, this is because it is easier to record.
  6. 6. Secondary research  Secondary research is research that is carried out with already existing data. It uses information such as books, magazines, journals, newspapers.  This is useful to my project, as the amount of information that can be discovered is very wide, this is useful to my research because I can find lots of information about my product to make my pitch the best it can be.  I intend to get information from the official website of my brand and reviews of the product.
