  • I made this presentation for a telco client I was working with back in April 2007. It’s been sanitized of course, but the contents are the same.
    Yup, you guessed it right - blank stares...
    I’ve been working in or around telcos since 1997 and, yes, I still get blank stares. So I finally decided to just post my thoughts publicly.

Telecoms Value <ul><li>The telecoms value chain is dis-integrating </li></ul><ul><li>There are many, many more links in the value chain now and telcos do not control a lot of them </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Applications developers are central value-drivers, fueled by open-source software and commons licensing </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Content owners are in a stronger position than before, with the ability to interact directly with content consumers via web applications </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>“Content owners” now includes almost all network users , as we interact more and more online through web-services thus generating huge amounts of content value </li></ul></ul>Rene Ylanan
