    2. 2. Lesson Plan 1 <ul><li>Title: Contemporary Composers </li></ul><ul><li>Grade: Middle School </li></ul><ul><li>Subject: General Music </li></ul>
    3. 3. Objectives <ul><li>Students will learn about a contemporary composer using the Internet. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will learn how to correspond and learn information by blogging. </li></ul>
    4. 4. Outline <ul><li>Students will research contemporary composers on the Internet. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will research music of five contemporary composers. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will find a blog site pertaining to one contemporary composer. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will read the posts on the blog site for information on the composer. </li></ul>

Student Products <ul><li>Students will develop a list of five contemporary composers with biographical information. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will list five compositions the composer created. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will reply to a message on a blog site for one of the five composers. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will summarize two of the messages posted on their chosen blog site. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will copy the URL from the blog site to their final research information. </li></ul>

    7. 7. Objectives <ul><li>Students will learn about music from around the world </li></ul><ul><li>Students will learn to create a slideshow or slidecast using Web 2.0 tools. </li></ul>

Outline <ul><li>Students will be placed in groups of two. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will choose a country for their group. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will research the music of their chosen country using the Internet. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will find photographs, sound recordings, and/or clip art for their chosen country. </li></ul>

Student Products <ul><li>Students will create a slideshow or slidecast of fifteen slides about the music of the country they chose. </li></ul><ul><li>The show will have information on the country, music from the country, and how music plays a part of the country’s everyday life. </li></ul><ul><li>The show must contain sound recordings of music from the selected country. </li></ul>
    10. 10. Lesson Plan Three <ul><li>Title: Categories of Instruments </li></ul><ul><li>Grade: Middle School </li></ul><ul><li>Subject: General Music </li></ul>
    11. 11. Objectives <ul><li>Students will learn and understand the five categories of musical instruments. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will learn to use an online document maker to create a document. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will create a slideshow for the class website. </li></ul>
    12. 12. Outline <ul><li>Students will research the five categories of instruments (aerophones, chordophones, membranophones, idiophones, and electrophones) using the Internet. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will find pictures of five instruments for each category. </li></ul>
    13. 13. Student Products <ul><li>Students will create an online word document describing the five categories of instruments. </li></ul><ul><li>Students will create a slideshow with pictures of five instruments per category for a total of 25 slides. </li></ul><ul><li>Students’ slideshows and documents will be linked and/or embedded into the classroom website. </li></ul>
