  • Notes: Develop a persona in your writing. Are you saucy, serious, silly? Let this voice come out in your blog. The persona also drives what you will write about and how you will cover it.
  • It’s ok to cover topics that are making headlines already. You want to do that to drive the conversation over to your blog and ultimately you as the expert. Rehash it, spin it your way, link to other blogs and articles covering the show or movie. Add your own speculation.
  • Cover the same topic multiple times and in multiple ways. I wrote at least four posts on why Dan Stevens’ character had to be killed off and Dan Stevens apologizing about that. Each time, people came back to read about it.
  • Do a Google Plus Hangout on your blog about the show while it is on – a watch party. Or do it after – be the online version of the “Talking Dead” show which comes on after “The Walking Dead.” Where they analyze the show after it has aired.
Like Facebook and Google Plus communities dedicated to the show or movie you are blogging about.
Tweet the show’s or movie’s official feed and stars who are in it.
Tweet to other people tweeting about the show or who have blogs about the show.
  • Make yourself available to libraries, conferences, museums, gardens, clubs etc to talk about the show.
Start a meet up group about it.
  • www.rosemaryjean-louis.com: this is my personality site dedicated to Downton Abbey, Vikings and AMC’s Turn – essentially period piece dramas. People learn more about who I am and can reach out to me specifically about those shows. You can do that with your site – use it as a marketing tool for you.
What I used to create it:
    Elegantthemes.com
    Plugins:
    WP SEO plugin for SEO
JetPack – for Social and Email list building
WP Floating Social Bar for social too
