Introduction Student Page Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits [ Teacher Page ] The Fall of Rome With the fall of Rome, Europe had entered into a period of political, social, and economic decline. Europe became a bunch of Germanic tribes fighting for power and position. The Carolingian line of rulers fought for control and established a type of monarchy ( one ruler) that brought order to Europe. Charlemagne is the most famous of the rulers, he was named Emperor of the Roman People by Pope Leo III in 800. This suggested that Charlemagne’s rule had the full backing of the church and of God. He had tremendous power, and the empire was so large it was not easy to rule. He supported learning and worked with the powers in the Catholic Church to bring order to the people of Europe.
