  3. 3. PRESS RELEASE Thom Sweeney has brought a wind of change to the long established school of bespoke tailoring. Dashing and slim, this new wave of British cutting has lost nothing of the old ethos and still clings devotedly to the tenets of ‘bespoke.’ The individuality of building garments, designed for each particular client with the closest attention to detail, using the finest cloth and the most skilful cutting. Thom Sweeney is a modern alchemist who blend the craft of bespoke with a totally new contemporary aesthetic. Thom Sweeney was created by Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney in 2007. Both are career tailors who served their apprenticeships with some of the greatest cutters and tailors in London. They learned their craft at the feet of masters and both worked for the quirky East End tailor, “Timothy Everest”. The partnership between Thom and Luke has produced a dynamic cocktail. The mixture is a total grasp of all the skills of tailoring, an intuitive understanding of the client’s lifestyle and character plus a large dash of flair. Until now, every aspect of their careers has been a step on the path that has led unswervingly to ‘the Thom Sweeney world of bespoke.’ The individuality, luxury, style and elegance, with a huge injection of fun, have all been part of a long held plan. Based in a former art gallery in Mayfair, the Thom Sweeney showroom has the ambience of a modern gentlemen’s club rather than a traditional shop. The retail experience is relaxed and informal and allows clients to enjoy fully the unrivalled experience of ‘bespoke’ and the pure luxury of clothes made for the individual.
