A Short Description<br />The Boston University China Care Fund (BUCCF) is a student-run organization that aims to empower youth to create life changing opportunities for Chinese orphans. <br />Direct Humanitarian Service<br />Fundraising to Fund Orphan Surgeries<br />Educational Events <br />

Dumplings Playgroup Program<br />“Dumplings Playgroup” program in the fall for adopted Chinese children and their families to experience Chinese culture through activities, stories, and food, as well as allow for families to connect and network with each other.<br />Commitment: <br />1 Semester <br />6 Sessions occurring on Saturdays from 1-3pm<br />A hr long meeting each week<br />
  13. 13. Mentoring Program<br />Mentoring New Immigrant Middle School students adjust into life in America. <br />Assist with Homework<br />Tutor English<br />Social Activities<br />Field Trips to Boston Attractions<br />Time Commitment<br />A few hrs a week<br />
  14. 14. After School Volunteer Program<br />Volunteering at the Kwong Kow School in Chinatown. Assisting and tutoring local elementary school students with their Math and English Homework.<br />Time Commitment: <br />1 Semester<br />Flexible according to your academic schedule<br />

Global Service Opportunities<br />Volunteer at the China Care Home in Beijing during the summer!<br />Work directly with children we have helped <br />Go on sightseeing trips <br />Go to http://www.chinacare.org/news for personal accounts of the experience<br />Time Commitment: <br />1 week program in July/August<br />

  17. 17. “With all their sweet dispositions, it's pretty hard to think that all these kids are actually battling life-threatening diseases, recovering from surgery, or living with some sort of mental handicap. You really couldn't tell.”<br />“It was good to finally be able to meet the China Care kids and put a face on the cause, overall it was quite a fruitful experience. So yeah let's work super hard and help these kids out!”<br />
