  1. 1. THE ADVENTURES OF SCALLOP AND MUSSEL GALWAY ART FESTIVAL

At the Cliffs of Moher <ul><li>Scallop and Mussel have found a Claddagh Ring at the Cliffs of Moher. </li></ul><ul><li>The ring has an inscription with two names, a date and a place : </li></ul><ul><li>“ with love , Mary and Sean. Galway 2006”. </li></ul><ul><li>They had therefore travelled to Galway. They are searching for the owner of the ring . </li></ul>
  3. 3. They arrive in Galway
  4. 4. The artists move towards the city centre. <ul><li>Hi! Where are you going? </li></ul><ul><li>We´re going to the city centre. There is a parade. Would you like to come with us? </li></ul><ul><li>Why not? </li></ul><ul><li>Ok.Let´s go. </li></ul><ul><li>Ok.We´ll follow you. </li></ul>

  6. 6. Why don´t we join the parade?
  7. 7. There are lots of musicians at the parade
  8. 8. The Art Festival is great
  9. 9. Why don´t we have a rest after the parade.

We have seen some celtic musical instruments <ul><li>A bodran is a celtic instrument similar to a drum. </li></ul><ul><li>It´s is pronounced bow´-rahn. </li></ul><ul><li>Bones are also celtic instruments. </li></ul><ul><li>They´re called bones because in the old days they were made of bones. </li></ul><ul><li>To play them you have to hold them between the fingers of one hand and shake your hands so that they clack against each other. </li></ul>
  11. 11. We have also learnt that the harp is the symbol of Ireland
  12. 12. At the Spanish Arch. <ul><li>Suddenly they heard some voices saying: </li></ul><ul><li>Go to Connemara! </li></ul><ul><li>Go to Connemara! </li></ul><ul><li>Hush! Listen! </li></ul><ul><li>Hey, what´s that? </li></ul>

They ask a Leprechaum about the voices. <ul><li>Those are the voices of the Children of Lir </li></ul><ul><li>The Leprechaum tells them the story of the Children of Lir. </li></ul><ul><li>Perhaps we should go to Connemara! </li></ul><ul><li>You may find the owner of the ring there! </li></ul>
  14. 14. Sometimes the voices of the Children of Lir are heard in the West of Ireland
